How internet marketing people get our e-mail ID?

I get lot of e-mails from Junks and Fraud Lottery people. How they get our e-mail address?
Is the big groups like Yahoo or Hotmail or Gmail gives our address to them?
I am really wondering about this. Please let me know-Thanks
